From 30 June to 4 July 2025, the Network for Dialogue (N4D) convened its Second Strategic Planning Meeting and Roundtable in Luxembourg, marking a significant milestone in its journey to foster inclusive societies through interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
Hosted in partnership with Formation et Sensibilisation Luxembourg (FSL) and supported by the International Dialogue Centre – KAICIID through Erasmus Plus, the week brought together 20 Network members from 13 European countries.
Strengthening Strategy and Vision
The opening days focused on co-developing the N4D Strategic Plan, setting clear goals for the Network’s future impact. Sessions explored:
- Strengthening civic engagement through dialogue
- Enhancing interreligious and intercultural approaches to foster active citizenship
- Advancing inclusive policy advocacy at local and European levels
- Building robust structures for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
- Designing effective governance and operational models
Group discussions were rich with exchange, reflecting the diversity of contexts and experiences that each member brought. Participants worked collaboratively to ensure the Network remains a dynamic and responsive platform, equipped to address the evolving challenges facing migrant and host communities across Europe.
A Roundtable on Faith, Belonging, and Civic Engagement
On 2 July, the focus shifted to public engagement with a high-level roundtable at the historic Abbey Neumünster, co-organized with FSL and the Anna Lindh Foundation Network Luxembourg. Titled “The Role of Religious Institutions in Belonging and Civic Engagement in Europe,” the roundtable gathered distinguished religious leaders from Muslim-Jewish Leadership Council, academics, policymakers, and civil society actors.
Discussions explored how faith communities can foster shared citizenship, trust, and social cohesion in today’s diverse societies. A recurring theme was the power of dialogue not merely as a tool, but as a commitment to fostering belonging and inclusion. The roundtable reaffirmed N4D’s belief that interfaith dialogue is a cornerstone of peaceful and resilient communities.
Continuing the Journey
The Network for Dialogue moves forward with renewed purpose and clarity, ready to continue building bridges across religious, civil society, and policy sectors. Together, members remain committed to transforming migration and diversity from perceived challenges into opportunities for growth, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence.
